Emotional Intelligence (EQ), Emotional leadeship (EL), Emotional Intelligence Quotient represents the ability of individuals to recognize their own emotions and the emotions of others, while developing the ability:
- to adapt quickly to different environments;
- to use this understanding constructively in interactions with others;
- to use these emotions to make better managerial decisions.
According to Daniel Goleman, Emotional Intelligence is not a skill that one is born with, but a construct that anyone can work with and develop. For Goleman, emotional intelligence is composed of five major constructs - self-awareness, self-regulation, social skills, empathy and motivation.
